Sometimes I curse my craigslist search alerts. This is one of those times. Last night I got a ping for this 1986 1968 Volvo 122s. 4-speed manual, B18 engine, looks straight as hell... what’s not to love!?
Well it has been sitting a while. How long? The seller won’t say. It was his dad’s, who has now passed and I would guess based on the dust, it has been sitting for a while.
It is also sharing a garage with a 450SL, which is another <3 car. This guy’s dad was an awesome dude.
This thing lives 4 hours away from me and they want $4k for it. My gut tells me it is too far, in too bad of shape, for too much money. My heart say buy ittttttt!

Well if you do that then I’d have to buy the SL too...

People have brought a lot worse! Looks like a simple project to be honest.

Or at least limited to the oily bits, which I am OK with.
If the interior is good (I’ve requested better photos) I might not be able to pass it up. If it is garbage that is another $1k+ in resto I’m not sure I’m up to.

Get pictures of the underside and you’ll know how clean it probably is.
